Max Heart Rate

Oops - forgot to post this.

My max heart rate is (supposedly) 179BPM. So...

60% - 70% - Lose weight or recover - 107 - 125BPM
70% - 80% - Improve aerobic fitness & maintain health - 126 - 143BPM
80+% - Increase athletic performance - 143 - 179BPM

Back To Running

... and Cardio Trainer now works with my new Polar WearLink+ heart rate monitor! Can we have a woot!?

The main thing I miss at the moment is that it doesn't do a min/max/average of my heart rate. But I guess I can live with that for now, since they only released it yesterday.

So I started (!) with Week 5 Day 3 of the C25K program, which is a 20-minute run with a 5-minute warmup and cooldown walk. I overestimated the distance I would be away from my house though, so it actually ended up being a 36-minute one instead of 30.

So, without further ado - the stats:

Total Distance: 2.79 miles
Calories Burned: 519
Min. Speed: 2.23 mph
Max. Speed: 8.34 mph
Avg. Speed: 4.62 mph
Avg. Pace: 12:59 min/mile

I had a goal to keep my heart rate between 126 and 143 when I started, as that's my 70 - 80% of maximum heart rate, but I'm not ever very good at going slow... soooo it looks like I stayed more around 145 - 150. Cardio Trainer doesn't have a min/max/avg heart rate yet, but since they only introduced the HRM yesterday, I expect they'll add it soon. I think I remember a notification of it being around 157BPM once, but I could be mistaken.

A-Ha

That was it... we didn't start fighting until we stopped spending so much time together, because I was unhappy with that. Then, when we were talking about moving in together, we hesitated because we were arguing too much.

It was a self-perpetuating cycle. That was it.

Thoughts

... to try and recapture it.

We were thinking of moving in together (yes, THAT good). We started fighting after I freaked out. Then decided not to move in together because we were fighting too much.

Was that it?

Hell hell hell.

Fucking Hell

I re-read the last post after I wrote it, and I missed the kicker, which was the bit of info I realized whilst standing in the shower.

And I was talking to her today, and I remembered it... and then promptly forgot it again.

And now, I'm reading the last post and I can't remember the damned thing.

I HATE having ADD sometimes.

Long Time No Read

Yep. It's been a while, but now I have something to write about again.

See, I'm on kind of a forced death march of discovery. And I was standing in the shower today when I was given yet another swat of the clue bat.

I was in a relationship... what was a really good relationship for a long time. But in the last two months, it went from really good to done.

Part of the problem - okay, a lot of the problem - was me. I was basically kind of an ass, took her for granted, and a lot of other stuff that I may get into later. Needless to say, after two months of not getting what she needed, she dumped me, and was basically kind of right to do so.

Anyway, getting to the point of this, since it's basically my outlet... I figured something out today. We had been spending a LOT of time together, and I was actually really happy with that. She wasn't getting enough of what she needed, but that's another story as well... but I was good with it. Until someone outside of the relationship mentioned it to someone else (that's a private story). So I freaked out and said we needed to not spend as much time together. And then got mad because, eventually, we didn't spend as much time together.

That was around two months ago. Things weren't the same after that. And I'm pretty sure that right there is where I messed up.

Ahhhhhh...

The temperature's finally broken and I can finally turn the computer on without setting the house on fire!

Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap is seriously a lifesaver when it's hot. Taking a shower with that, feeling the peppermint oil open up your pores, is a godsend.

Still doing the baking soda thing, and it seems to be working just fine. I can't really tell a difference in my hair from using regular shampoo, so that's a good thing.

Not much else to report at the moment, unfortunately. I just got this card game I used to play when I was a little kid called Mille Bornes, but you don't wanna hear about that... :-)
